Just like to say jeffparsons and I are awesome! And I voted for “Fold” as well. On fire twice!

I think the Villain played it like a champ. He is trying to get the most out his/her opponent

See what happens when you check trips off the flop? :) I would’ve lost some good dough there.

OK, so it was me that was the “hero” in this.

Those of you who think a strong tight player would raise with A6… I wanna play with you. This table, most players wouldn’t play A6, let alone raise and certainly not 8x the big blind.

Ahem, that being said, in this instance I put the guy on a strong pocket pair (AA, KK, QQ, JJ) or AK or possibly as low as AQ suited. I didn’t consider AA after his check on the flop but I didn’t bet the flop because if he did just have a big non-Ace pocket pair, he would’ve folded and I wouldn’t get as much as if I let him think his high pair is good and is now 2 pair as of the turn.

I don’t regret the reraise on the end but I obviously regret the insta call of the all in bet. I took no time to really evaluate if I was the trappee instead of the trapper. I think what stung further was the feeling that every player on the table except me knew he had AA. Maybe that wasn’t the case but it felt like it at the time. Great play on his part, I hope to see him in the freeroll next month.

Hand was played at Binion’s in the spiffy new poker room with, I’d say, 5 other locals and 3 other tourist regulars (people not from Vegas but come out about 4-7 times a year and play Binion’s regularly) Its not as soft a game as many places but the new room is nice. I recommend you check it out.
