Brandon Hall Wins Aruba Poker Classic Title along with $735,330

It was an exciting day for the world of poker when the seven players returned to the hall for the final table. There was tension in the air, as everyone knew that only one of them would come out as the champion. The money was on Robert Mizrachi, who was able to keep a nice lead in chip count throughout the whole tournament. But it was Brandon Hall who was to overtake him and the other 475 players who joined the Aruba Poker Classic Tournament, earning himself a nifty $735,330.

Who were the Contestants?

I suppose you’re curious as to who the contenders in the final table were. Well, I’ve already mentioned two: Brandon Hall who came in first with $753,330 and Robert Mizrachi who incidentally came in second with $414,680. The one who came in third was Chase Steely with $218,860. Eric Baldwin came next with $126,710, with Jose Santos at a close fifth at $92,150. Brock Parker came sixth with $66,810. Matt Ross, on the other hand, was the first to go home with $41,470.

How did the Action go?

Matt Ross was eliminated when he moved all in preflop, prompting Jose Santos to make a gamble and call. Ross’s cards were a pair of 7s while Santos had a King and an Ace. When the cards were revealed, 2 aces cropped up, giving Santos an impressive three aces. The games continued from then, until Parker fell to Baldwin’s Queens. Following Parker quite closely, Santos made his exit at fifth place when his decided to fold after seeing Steely’s Straight. Baldwin had been hanging on until he and Mizrachi went into a game of raising and reraising. The action went on until Baldwin pushed an all in move and Mizrachi called. They both had Aces, but Mizrachi had a Seven that could pair up with the 7 on the flop, giving him the win.

With only three players left, the game immediately became a Steely vs. Mizrachi match up. Steely held an impressive pair of Queens while Mizrachi held a King and a Jack. However impressive Steely’s cards were, Mizrachi came out on top with a Broadway straight. Finally, with only two players left, it had become a match up between Mizrachi and Hall, who had been keeping inconspicuous for all this time. The flop was 9H, 8S, and 2C and the board had JD and QD. Mizrachi held 9C and 6C while Hall had JS and 10D, effectively giving him a straight that was more than enough to put him in the lead, eliminate Mizrachi, and give him the title along with the grand prize.
