Young Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, a 24-year old poker player from the United Kingdom, was specially selected by Doyle Brunson himself to join the Brunson 10. The Brunson 10 – a handpicked team of elite poker players under the age of 25 – are the ones chosen to represent Doyle’s poker room, which is called “Doyle’s Room”, and to sport its logo during tournaments.

Doyle Brunson remarks, “Moorman reminds me a lot of me, except for the British accent.” And if Doyle Brunson tells you that you remind him of himself, why, you better be flattered. Doyle Brunson is only the biggest name in live poker, a true legend himself. But Doyle’s compliments for Moorman didn’t stop there. He went on further, saying that Moorman is “a poker natural, a legend in the making”.

Who is Chris Moorman?

But who exactly is Chris Moorman, you ask? He’s that Brit guy who storms the poker tables with seemingly little effort and goes home with the winnings, that’s who. Chris Moorman, or more popularly known as Moorman1, is a behemoth in the online poker scene. He’s not a big name in the world of live poker, with only abut 30,000 dollars in winnings. But in the online world, he’s a titan. Chris Moorman has won up to 1.8 million dollars from Poker Stars and Full Tilt. He also has nine titles and 124 cashes in all, making him a truly formidable foe on any poker table. Currently, he’s ranked 6th in the Power Rankings and 4th in Bluff Magazine’s Online Player of the Year.

With such a stellar record, it’s no wonder at all that his name made it into Doyle Brunson’s team of elites.

The Brunson 10 – a Team of Elites

After being handpicked by Doyle Brunson and lauded with generous praise, Chris Moorman now joins the ranks of Alec Torelli, Amit Makhija, and Zachary Clark. All four of them are big names in the online poker world and are the most impressive youngsters in the game. Doyle Brunson is, indeed, dead serious about his team of elites, what with the star studded roster he’s setting up. Six members have yet to be chosen and as of now Doyle Brunson is tight-lipped about who they are. All poker fans can do, really, is speculate about who these young stars will be. There are already several good guesses but until Doyle Brunson makes his formal announcement, we can do naught but wait and speculate.
