It’s been quite a while since Doyle Brunson announced the last addition to his elite team. And in fact, people have begun to doubt that it would ever be completed. Recruitment, however, seems to have picked up, as the Godfather of Poker has just recently announced the addition of Dani “Ansky” Stern (site: anskypoker.com) to the Brunson 10.
What is the Brunson 10?
As most of you probably know by now, the Brunson 10 is a handpicked elite group of youngsters that Doyle Brunson deems worthy of carrying on the game to the next generation. They will be representing the godfather of poker’s spiffy website, Doyle’s Room (33% Rakeback). And in fact, the website proclaims that the Brunson 10 is “the next generation of legends to rise up and follow in the footsteps of the greatest man to ever play the game.” And let me tell you, there’s no exaggeration there. With Doyle Brunson’s impressive track record and his stellar reputation, one cannot discount that he might just really be the greatest poker legend. He even wrote the “gospel” of the game of poker, the Super/System. So, being chosen as one of the ‘Brunson 10’ is certainly a very big honor for poker players. Right now, the Brunson 10 consists of only 5 members, namely Zachary “Crazy Zachary” Clark, Alec “traheho” Torelli, Amit “amak316” Makhija, Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, and of course, the newest member, Dani “Ansky” Stern.
Who is Dani “Ansky” Stern?
So what has Stern done in order to merit his position in this elite posse? Well, aside from building a million-dollar empire from a tiny $20 deposit, he also competes in several tournaments and in all the most challenging high-stakes games in the internet. Last summer, he finished fourth in the WSOP Anniversary Event and earned himself a nifty $40,000. This makes his tournament winnings amount to more than $800,000. Stern also gathered quite a following after showing up in the G4TV show, Two Months, Two Million. Indeed, Stern has done more than his fair share of achievements in the world of poker. Most importantly, though, he has caught the eye and respect of Doyle Brunson, who says, “I’ve seen Ansky play on TV, I’ve seen him play online, and I’ve seen him talk poker like someone who’s been playing for decades. Dani ‘Ansky’ Stern is the future of this game, and I’m proud to have him on my team.”
