The November Nine reconvened at the final table of the 2009 World Series of Poker this past Saturday. Nine men started, but only two remain. Darvin Moon and Joe Cada outlasted the skilled field of poker players and will play heads up tonight (Monday November 9) at 10PM PST. Cada has about a 9 to 4 chip advantage over Moon (136,925,000 to 58,875,000) entering heads up.
Darvin Moon entered the final table with a substantial chip lead at 58,930,000 but ended the day in roughly the same spot. Moon, a logger from Maryland, had a tumultuous final table that saw him in 4th place at one point. He was able to chip back up by out-flopping Phil Ivey’s AcKs with AdQs, sending Ivey to the rail. Moments later he spiked an Ad on the river to end Steve Begleiter’s night.
The 21 year old Joe Cada started the night at 13,215,000 and ended the night with every chip except what Moon had brought to the table. Cada is an online player at Full Tilt (jcada99) who has had some decent online cashes. His biggest cash being a $50K win in 2008 at the Sunday Mulligan on Full Tilt.
The heads up play is set to start tonight at 10PM PST with the full broadcast set for Tuesday night on ESPN. To follow the World Series of Poker on Twitter, go to: http://twitter.com/wsop.
