Life on Tilt: Confessions of a Poker Dad, a novel by John Blowers, will be out on the big screen pretty soon now that Hollywood has taken an interest in it.
What is the Book about?
Life on Tilt is one of the most celebrated books in the world of poker. This is because Blowers’ book tells things as they are and does not sugarcoat them with glitz and glamour. It describes the life of a person aspiring to become a pro quite accurately – the grinding, the boredom, the fear, the frustration, and the elation, everything. Pros have commended it for its accurate portrayal of a poker player’s life. It is not, however, a true autobiography. Life on Tilt is a fictional autobiography of a man named Johnnoe Zandoken, a human-resources executive and family man, who gets embroiled in the world of poker with all its ups and downs and who puts his family life at risk with his decisions. It’s a heartwarming portrayal of how man can hurt the people he loves without ever doing it intentionally and, in fact, having their best intentions in mind. Johnnoe is ultimately faced with the question of what really matters to him. He stands at the crossroads of his life and has to decide whether or not to pursue his dreams.
When Will the Movie Be Out?
As of now, there is no definite information on when the movie will actually come out. But filming will start next year and preparations are already underway. John Blowers is heavily involved in developing the movie’s initial script. He is one of the producers and advisers for the show and he even has a cameo role in the film itself. Rumor has it that one of Hollywood’s top directors have taken on the challenge of bringing this book to life in film. Also famous actress and poker enthusiast, Shannon Elizabeth, is said to be involved in the project. The Life on Tilt project has already gathered $12 million dollars so far and is expected to gather much more, as the enthusiasm for the film is high. So watch out for Life on Tilt: Confessions of a Poker Dad, a film that’s bound to be a blockbuster.
