With the UK & Ireland Poker Tour lurking just around the corner, Team Pokerstars welcomes a new member into their fold. Jude Ainsworth, winner of the 2008 Irish Poker Championship, will be the newest member of the team and will be joining them on the said tournament.
Who is Jude Ainsworth?
Born in the beautiful city of Galway in Ireland, Jude “J. Thaddeus” Ainsworth is one of the most formidable poker players, both in the online world and the live one. He has been making waves ever since he won the Irish Poker Championship in 2008. All eyes were on him as he went on to win pot after pot and even some more titles. Just recently, PokerStars signed Ainsworth and welcomed him into the Team PokerStars. He will be joining the ranks of the other PokerStars Pros like Daniel Negreanu, Tom McEvoy, Bertrand Grospellier, Ivan Demidov, Vanessa Ruosso, John Duthie, and many more. It’s one of the most elite lineups ever created and it’s certainly a huge honor to be part of the said team. This coming UKIPT, where Team PokerStars is set to participate, will be Jude’s first foray into a tournament as a member of the team. But that’s not the only thing he’s excited about. The UKIPT will be coming back to Galway this year on the 11th of December. Ainsworth shares that he is looking forward the most to this part of the tour.
The UKIPT
That’s not the only thing that’s worth getting excited about when it comes to this year’s UKIPT though. In an unprecedented move of immense generosity, the structure of the UKIPT has been modified in such a way that allows for more exciting gameplay and more opportunities for twists and turns. Buy-ins for the said tournament are very much affordable, with some just costing as little as £500. Players will also be given 30,000 chips at the beginning, along with several vital blinds for each day. The tournament’s pace is also set to be very gradual, so you can be sure that whoever gains a seat at the final table will deserve to be there. Indeed, this is certainly an exciting development for the UKIPT. Team Pokerstars, no doubt, is very pleased. And with the new addition into their elite posse, they’re bound to make huge waves in this year’s tournaments. So saying, we should really watch out for Ainsworth. The big guys have noticed him and it certainly seems like he’ll have a most interesting career.
